Jeremy Deller: Joy in People opens at the Hayward Gallery, 22 February and runs until 13 May 2012. This comprehensive survey – the first in the artist’s career – provides a fresh overview of his multi-faceted work and incorporates almost all of his major works to date, including installations, photographs, videos, posters, banners, performance works, and sound pieces. The exhibition recreates Deller’s 1993 exhibition Open Bedroom which took place in his parent’s house, and includes his acclaimed work The Battle of Orgreave (An Injury to One is an Injury to All) (2001) and a new work Exodus (2012) a 3D film of millions of bats in flight.
